UK Tool Hire Introduces New Aldercote NEO Jackless Van Mount with E-Drive
UK Tool Hire has added the new Aldercote NEO Jackless Van Mount with E-Drive to its powered access fleet, bringing one of the latest developments in van-mounted access technology to customers.
New to the market, the Aldercote NEO combines a 14.1 m working height with jackless operation and battery-powered boom functionality, offering a faster, quieter and more efficient alternative to traditional van-mounted platforms.
One of the most significant features of the NEO is its jackless design. With no stabiliser legs to deploy, operators can arrive on site and set up considerably more quickly, while also benefiting from faster pack-down when the work is complete.
Removing the need for jack legs also eliminates many of the practical issues associated with conventional stabilisers, particularly when working in restricted spaces, on busy streets or where positioning a vehicle can be difficult.
Quiet battery-powered operation
The NEO’s E-Drive system provides battery-powered boom operation, allowing the access platform to operate without continuously running the van’s engine.
This makes the machine particularly well suited to work in residential areas, hospitals, schools, town centres and other noise-sensitive locations, where reducing engine noise and disturbance can be an important consideration.
Battery operation also provides a direct saving in fuel. UK Tool Hire estimates that operators could save up to £37 per week in fuel costs, depending on utilisation, compared with operating a conventional engine-powered van mount.
The combination of reduced fuel consumption and quieter operation provides both an operational and environmental benefit for customers using the machine regularly.
Increased payload
Another major advantage is the NEO’s improved carrying capacity.
Despite the access equipment installed on the vehicle, the van provides an available payload of approximately 580 kg, including two people and a full tank of fuel.
This gives operators considerably greater flexibility to carry the tools, equipment and materials required for the working day, rather than sacrificing useful payload to accommodate the access platform.
For businesses using van mounts as everyday working vehicles, the additional carrying capacity can make a significant practical difference.
High-specification van
UK Tool Hire has specified the NEO on a high-specification automatic van chassis with air conditioning, providing a more comfortable and convenient working environment for operators who may spend much of their day travelling between sites.
The road-going format also means the machine can move easily between jobs without requiring separate transport, while its jackless configuration allows it to be deployed rapidly once it reaches site.
Designed for everyday access work
With its combination of 14.1 m working height, jackless operation, battery-powered boom, increased payload and high-specification automatic van, the Aldercote NEO has been designed around the practical requirements of businesses that use vehicle-mounted access equipment every day.
It is particularly suited to applications including street lighting, utilities, telecommunications, signage, building maintenance and installation work.
A spokesperson for UK Tool Hire said:
“The Aldercote NEO addresses a number of the everyday issues operators experience with traditional van mounts. Removing the jack legs makes setting up and packing away quicker and simpler, while battery boom operation means the machine can work much more quietly and use less fuel.
“The 580 kg available payload is another important benefit. Operators still have the carrying capacity they need for people, tools and equipment, rather than having an access platform that leaves very little useful payload.
“Combined with the automatic transmission and air conditioning, we believe it gives customers a very practical, modern van-mounted access solution.”
